To help public bodies (central government, local authorities, public entities) to finance and deliver their projects, Bouygues Bâtiment International has forged significant expertise in Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).

This form of contractual agreement is an effective approach for public bodies that wish to rationalise their investments. It is characterised by a global rationale and a culture of usage and service delivered. In this way, Bouygues Bâtiment International provides financing, design, construction, operation and maintenance of structures on behalf of public clients.

Bolstered by experience gained in the United Kingdom for over 20 years, our PPP contracts have enabled numerous constructions and public structures to see the light of day across Europe, Asia and America: airports, hospitals, schools and universities, ministries and public buildings, stadiums and arenas, exhibition centres... a phenomenal range of structures are now in operation. Among these constructions are the Home Office and King's College in London, the SportsHub in Singapore and the Budapest Arena.

The PPP process is characterised by the very simple operational undertaking of the client, who only has to deal with one single contractor, who coordinates the various activities and provides support to the client on a long-term basis. In exchange for rent paid over several years, the client spreads its investments and the site operating budget over time.

For its part, Bouygues Bâtiment International undertakes to arrange all the resources needed - firstly to design, finance and execute the project within the specified deadlines and budget - then to operate and maintain the structure for a guaranteed fixed price, all with the best possible quality of service for its users. At the end of the partnership contract, the client becomes sole owner and beneficiary of a structure which, thanks to the long-term involvement of teams from Bouygues Bâtiment International, has maintained its value.

It’s quite simply the largest PPP sports infrastructure project in the world. When it opens in 2014, the Singapore SportsHub will be a modern, comfortable, world-class sports Mecca, boasting state-of-the-art technological equipment (air-conditioned terraces, in particular). Dragages Singapore, a subsidiary of Bouygues Bâtiment International, is building the hub and will operate it for 25 years.
